CPS Energy’s offices and customer service centers will be closed on Thursday, June 19, 2025, in observance of Juneteenth. We will reopen on Friday, June 20, at 7:45 AM. Although our call center will be closed for regular business, we are still open for customers to report natural gas or electric emergencies anytime by calling 210-353-HELP (4357) or 1-800-870-1006. Online services may be conveniently accessed through Manage My Account (MMA).
A neighboring utility experienced a break in their gas odorant line. Gas odorant is used to help people identify the presence of gas (because without the odorant, natural gas is odorless). As the odorant spreads into the San Antonio area, we are receiving a high volume of calls reporting the smell of gas. While the odorant alone is not dangerous, CPS Energy is sending gas technicians to monitor the situation out of an abundance of caution.
CPS Energy asks that the public continue to call us if they smell gas. We have teams ready to answer each call, but because of the high volume of reports due to the neighboring utility’s odorant leak, it might take some time for a CPS Energy gas technician to respond.
CPS Energy prioritizes the safety of our customers and employees. If customers ever think they smell gas in their homes, they should always leave the house immediately and call CPS Energy at 210-353-HELP (4357) or 911.
